Notes from Writing Class

Last night in class, our instructor had us write letters to ourselves from our persistence and from our inspiration. Great writing prompts. We had three minutes to write each one.  I thought I would share just for fun.  Maybe you need encouragement to press on towards a goal.  Write a quick letter to yourself! The process is very nurturing. My two letters are below:

Dear Michele,

I am your persistence.  I am here urging you forward every step of the way.  You are a rock star!  I know this because I have been with you sometime admiring the way you ebb and flow in life with many detours and traumas along the way…still, you trudge onward moving towards the best “you” you can be. Part of your journey is your writing. The book you are writing is a massive undertaking in your life, a mountain you must climb in order to shout your message to the world. Do not grow weary, I am with you, moving you forward. You will reach the top where I will be with you to celebrate.

Dear Michele,

I am your inspiration.  Can’t you feel me growing within you? Are you not able to see how every moment of the path you have followed has been sprinkled with my presence? I am in the wind and the waves, in the laughter and the tears. I hover over your blank page as you write, dripping my fabulous nectar on your fingertips as you write.  Our relationship is precious and vital to both of us. I am your partner and catalyst. You are my purpose. Use me in anyway you want, nurture me and I will flourish.
